Kindergarten

Our educational work is essentially based on the following key areas:

1. Education for independence

Our kindergarten enables each child to detach themselves from their family for a certain period of time. New, complex relationships are built in a group of 3 to 6 year olds. Self-confidence forms the basis for independence. Therefore, we have made it our mission to further develop and deepen the children’s trust in themselves and in others. The demands on our kindergarten children increase over time. Those who are very young receive all the necessary support, e.g. when getting dressed, going to the toilet or wherever it is needed.

The slightly older children are increasingly encouraged to try things themselves and to seek help if necessary. In the last kindergarten year, the preschool year, all children are able to dress themselves independently and manage in the bathroom. They help the younger children and also learn to organize their materials and their workplace. They are thus optimally prepared for starting 1st grade.

2. Development of social skills

Our main daily activity is playing – and in as many different ways as possible. This is how we holistically train social skills – in a playful way. And playing is incredibly diverse: there are role-playing games, board games, free play, guided play, movement games and many more.

3. Language development and support

Many children who attend our facility do not speak German, or only partially. Kindergarten and school offer them support in the area of German as a Foreign Language in order to enable regular, child-friendly language experiences in small groups.

4. Portfolio

Our kindergarten year is enriched by all the beautiful festivals, seasonal themes, project work on child-friendly topics and excursions. At the end of each kindergarten year, each child receives a portfolio folder, richly filled with songs, handicrafts, poems and everything that accompanied us throughout the year. The children’s development steps can be wonderfully read from this folder. For this reason, they are also used for development discussions.

5. Project work

In addition to seasonal topics, we also like to try out more complex projects together with the children, such as traffic education, farm, summer hits, children’s etiquette… All areas of child development are incorporated here.
