Christian Rüffer
IB graduate of the German International School Sharjah, class of 2021/22. After graduating, I was accepted into my dream university, the
Technical University of Munich (TUM), in Germany, where I am now studying Mechanical Engineering. I took many fond memories with me from school. Although we were a small class at DISS, we had a lot of fun and felt completely at ease with the teachers. I already miss the good old days and wish only the best to future IB students and, of course, my former teachers!
Lia Söll
My name is Lia Söll, and I graduated from the German International School Sharjah in June 2019. After graduating, I decided to take a
gap year and completed a six-month internship at the Ajman Hotel as a receptionist and telephone operator. Coinciding with the outbreak of the pandemic, I managed to get accepted for studies at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Currently, I am finishing the last few weeks of my literature studies and am also trying to secure an internship in publishing. DISS focused heavily on the individual abilities of each student and, with a friendly and personal approach, helped students like me recognize my strengths. In particular, the promotion of German and English in presentations and academic essays proved very useful in my time after graduation.
Sara Reisyan
Hello,
my name is Sara Reisyan.
I completed my IB diploma at DISS in the summer of 2019. After successfully having my IB grades converted in Germany, I
applied directly to universities for study places. I then decided to study teaching at RWTH Aachen University, specializing in Mathematics and English for secondary schools (Gymnasien and Gesamtschulen). Although my time at DISS was almost four years ago, I fondly remember the familial atmosphere at the school. Especially the small class sizes seem like a dream to me now, sitting in a lecture with 200 people.
